If you have airborne allergies, chances are you’ve tried everything. You’re probably currently taking allergy medicine every single day, hoping your symptoms don’t seep through unexpectedly. You might even be sweeping the floors and dusting every surface in your home regularly, hoping to eradicate all of the allergens in every square inch of your home.
But there might be something you’re missing while you’re sweeping and dusting and shampooing the cat. And that something is an allergen reduction filter.
Allergen reduction filters are special filters designed to greatly reduce and trap airborne allergens and other contaminants present in the air. Purity filters do just that and then some; they’re developed using a unique 4-stage filtration process that is designed to reduce allergens from pet dander, mold, dust and mites.
The 4-Stage Filtration Process
The First Stage
Our filters aren’t made of cheap pleated paper; they are made of high quality polyester that more effectively traps larger particulate matter from the air, such as lint and dust. The polyester is the backbone of the filter, and makes up the first stage of the filtration process.
The Second Stage
The second stage is made up of what’s called an antimicrobial agent. The agent is added to the polyester to destroy the bacteria that is trapped by the polyester. All germs that the filter comes in contact with are killed.
The Third Stage
The third stage is made up of a sticky adhesive. The adhesive is added to further reduce and trap allergens for good. If allergens come in contact with the adhesive, they aren’t going to leave it. The airborne allergens that the filter can trap and reduce include dust, pet dander, mites, mold, and other allergy-causing contaminants.
The Fourth Stage
The fourth and final stage involves an activated carbon. The activated carbon — which is similar in nature to the activated carbon in water filters — is coated directly onto the filter to absorb pollutants in the air. This will make the air in the room cleaner and fresher. The pollutants the filter can absorb include smoke, odors from the trash can and from cooking, and chemical vapors. Our filters can also actively lessen any heavy metals present in the air, such as mercury and lead.
