Why Buy a Purity Air Filter?

High performance air filters for furnaces, air conditioners, registers, vents, air intakes, and more.

Our filters can:

  1. Reduce household odors.
  2. Maintain a cleaner and healthier indoor environment by reducing dust, lint, pollen, animal dander, and other pollutants.
  3. Be installed in seconds.
  4. Effectively control the growth of mold, mildew, bacteria in the media. They can also substantially reduce pollen levels.
  5. Keep pollutants and dirt away from air ducts, as well as prevent re-circulation.
  6. Reduce smoke particles, cooking odors, pet odors, and vapors from volatile organic compounds generated by common household chemicals and building materials.

Quality Performance

The Purity Air Filter™ is one of the best disposable filters on the market today. Purity filters offer better features than the more expensive electrostatic filters. The carbon-backed Purity filter —which was introduced in the 1980's — offers the customer a better value. Activated carbon is a well-known and scientifically tested natural adsorbent of toxic gases, biological agents, and toxic VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air. Activated carbon is used in water purification, sewage treatment, chemical and nuclear waste disposal, and in protective garments by the defense establishments. Independent test results have shown that the Purity Air Filter™ removed 99% of the ragweed and 97% of the nettle pollen, the most common allergens in North America (as proven by several laboratory tests).

The Performance of Purity Air Filter™ is further substantiated by the unsolicited comments from satisfied customers suffering from allergies and respiratory illnesses. The Quality and Performance of Purity Air Filters™ over the last decade has generated strong customer interest and loyalty.

Why Purity Air Filters™ Work Better

The Purity Air Filter™ was designed by experts with over 50 years of experience in developing and manufacturing high-efficiency air filters for furnaces and air conditioning units.

The following features set it apart from other filters:

  1. An internal wire frame keeps the filter rigid in the filter track (note: not in Trim-to-Fit model).
  2. The unique design and the extra media material at the edges help form a self-seal around the filter. This prevents unfiltered air from bypassing the filter and recirculating inside your home.
  3. The filter media is 100% polyester and consists of different layers of varying sizes. The first stage is the layer with open fibers that catches larger particles such as hair, lint, etc.
  4. The second stage includes a finer layer of fibers than the first stage, and the finer layer is designed to catch micron-sized particles.
  5. The third stage includes a special sticky adhesive that holds the micron-sized pollutants, reducing their levels in your home, and preventing re-circulation.
  6. The fourth stage has a layer of activated carbon, which adsorbs smelly odors and vapors from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). These VOCs are found in common household chemicals and building materials.
More Purity Air Filter Product Features

One of the features that make our filters so efficient is the unique design and the internal wire frame (not in Trim-to-Fit model).  Instead of an external plastic, aluminum, or cardboard frame, we use an internal wire frame, leaving a half-inch of extra material around the outside edges of the frame. This allows the filter to "bunch" up in the filter track to form a self-seal, forcing the air to go through the filter rather than around it.

A second feature that adds to the high efficiency of the filter is a special sticky adhesive that is applied to the polyester fiber. This adhesive collects and holds micron-sized particles, which prevents them from re-entering your system and being re-circulated back into your home. The sticky adhesive is substantially effective in reducing allergy-causing pollutants that contaminate air. Unfortunately, though, this feature is what makes the Purity Filter a disposable filter. Washing it would destroy the special adhesive, and vacuuming it would only remove the surface dirt.

Our filters have four stages of filtration. We cover all the bases! Read on to learn all about our filtration stages.

    Four Stages of Filtration

    1. The white fibers are looser, which means they remain the larger particles in the air.

    2. The green fibers catch the smaller particles.

    3. A sticky adhesive traps and holds the small micron-sized particles that are invisible to the naked eye, and the antimicrobial simultaneously destroys the bacterial spores, fungi, mold, and mildew on the media.

    4. The activated carbon reduces household odors and smoke particles.

    Installing the Purity Air Filter

Installation of the Purity is easy. Simply remove the old filter and slide it into the track. The air enters the filter through the green/white (light) polyester and exits the filter through the black (dark) carbon.  The green/white side will be the side that gets dirty, and the black side will be facing the fan/motor. Special filter sizes are available at a nominal additional cost.

    Scientifically Proven Air Filter

Activated Carbon is a form of charcoal in which millions of pores are created to increase the surface area to adsorb odors and toxic VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds). By combining the antimicrobial and tackifier treated filter media with an activated carbon coated media, Purity Filters offer a true 4-stage filtration system.

Activated carbon effectively helps adsorb odors, including:

    • Automobile exhaust fumes and particles

    • Bathroom odors

    • Bleach

    • Cigarette smoke and tobacco

    • Cooking odors

    • Gasoline, diesel, and kerosene

    • Odors caused by mold and Mildew

    • Pet odors

    • Odors caused by paint and carpet

    • Glues and adhesives

    • Various other VOCs

    Indoor Air Pollution

What's in the air you breathe?

Air consists of various gases and both small and large particles, including various pollen such as ragweed, nettle, dust, smoke particles, bacterial spores, fungi, lint, etc. The majority of the pollutants are micron-sized and can not be seen by the human eye. The Purity Air Filter™ is treated with an antimicrobial as well as a tackifier to enhance its performance and to provide your home with cleaner air.

Some of the pollutants are known to aggravate allergies and irritate respiratory systems. Most filters are developed and recommended to protect furnaces/air conditioning systems motors and fans from accumulating dust and thus help protect manufacturers' warranty. These filters were not highly efficient in removing micron-sized pollutants, odors or smoke particles. The Purity Filter was designed to prevent indoor air pollution by reducing pollutants,  and thus enhancing the quality of indoor air. The Purity Air Filter™ is a uniquely designed, true four stage filtration system that reduces dust, allergy-causing pollutants, smoke particles, odors, airborne microbes, fungi, spores,  mildew and mold by trapping and collecting them on the filter media. As more and more air is repeatedly forced through the filter media, more and more pollutants are captured, trapped, and removed from circulating air, thus providing cleaner, healthier indoor air.
